A moment with Marie de Chesse

I am sharing the story of Marie who I chose to take the images for my new company and who has paid an important part of capturing the essence of what my company is about. Marie was born in Paris and has a degree in photographic art and history of photography. Marie and I share a love for nature and simple things, she is gifted with a great sensibility and captures people with gentleness and sincerity. I hope you enjoy reading about her journey as much as I did.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

Launching my health store in Paris, a long time ago, as I created this project alone but also my new life as a photographer.

What is your vision for the future of your company?

I would love to open a real studio and organise creative retreats and workshops in the South of France.

Who would you love to collaborate with?

It would be a dream to assist Annie Leibovitz, I am a huge fan of her career and I would love to photograph her. I would also love to collaborate with my sons on a photography project.

Favourite part about your job?

It is often difficult to like seeing ourselves in photos, so when my clients are happy to see their pictures and tell me they love them, it’s a little victory!

What advice would you offer budding entrepreneurs?

Things take time…

Describe yourself in 3 words

Sensible, reliable, curious.

What book should we all read?

L’âme du monde Frederic Renoir but I am not sure if this book is translated into English.

Do you have any daily routines?

Oh yes!! My morning routine is very important for me, I have a long walk in nature with Garrus my dog, an English Springer; followed by a green tea. After that I am ready for the day.

Who inspires you and why?

Eve Arnold, Louise Dahl-Wolfe, Sally Man and Corinne Day for their photography aesthetic.

What is your favourite possession and why?

My Camera of course!! It’s a Canon eos 5D, I bring it everywhere.

What makes you smile?

My dogs haircut.

Where do you find inspiration?

Everywhere, when you really look at things, places, peoples, you always find beauty to capture.
